LEGO Nexo Knights Magazine Issue 09
LEGO Nexo Knights Magazine Issue 09

The LEGO Nexo Knights Magazine Issue 09 has just been released. And as promised, it's a profusion of free gifts, including a Bat Flyer and Ninjago trading cards!

Just like the previous issue, Issue 09 is overloaded with giveaways, specifically the Bat Flyer LEGO toy, a Ninjago booster pack, and a limited edition Ninjago card. All that's lacking is a Nexo Power, but that's okay. The brilliant strategy of introducing the Ninjago Trading Card Game in the LEGO Magazines is still ongoing. Just like last month, another rare card was included. A genius move, I believe, to tease the desire to complete the whole collection. It almost worked for me, almost, for now.

A Limited Edition Team Ninja golden foil card is included in every Issue 09. And with the special card guaranteed in every booster pack, I got a Jay & Cole silver foil card. So, by purchasing the two issues of LEGO Nexo Knights Magazine, I instantly have four shiny foil cards. This has tempted me into buying a Starter Pack. It's priced at £4.99, and it includes a binder, a pack of cards, an exclusive NRG Kai card, a gameboard, and a set of rules and instructions. Let's see if I can resist it...

For the LEGO toy, this month's freebie is a Bat Flyer.

Even without a rider, the airborne vehicle looks wickedly hot. The six shooter housing piece instantly makes any build fiercely hardcore. And the press release reads that the flame bat fires lava ammo (and that it's a vampire speedster)! I thought that the Bat Flyer is Lavaria's ride, but in the comics, a Crust Smasher was seen flying it. I always love it when the toys would appear in the comics.

I'm actually excited for next issue's free gift, for a knightly toy is promised, none other than a supermighty Mech Bot! Is this in preparation for the future Action sets? Then a Pilot Bot will be included in Issue 11 (I believe that's a typo below, unless the wrong toy was highlighted). LEGO Nexo Knights Magazine Issue 10 is on sale from 16 November.

R3-M2 [40268] review

R3-M2 [40268] The free LEGO R3-M2 [40268] minifigure will definitely make any rebel wannabe go rogue! R3-M2 is the latest droid minifigure LEGO is giving away to brick fans from a galaxy far, far away. It is an astromech droid part of the Alliance to Restore the Republic from  Rogue One: A Star Wars Story .   The promotion runs in the UK from 7 to 31 May with any LEGO Star Wars purchase. The offer is valid online at shop.LEGO.com and in LEGO Stores. Limited to one per household, and of course, while supplies last. R3-M2 I don't know the reason behind this but the set is weirdly packaged in a softer polybag. If I haven't received it from a LEGO Store, I think I would doubt it as a knockoff or something. Other than that, everything else is perfect! The R3-M2 minifigure comes with a cool transparent head, which at first glance looks chrome silver. As pictured above, the printed details, however, are kind of hard to see ( sorry ). The body's printing is somewhat similar to th...

LEGO nexo knights magazine: issue 07

LEGO Nexo Knights Magazine Issue 07 LEGO Nexo Knights Magazine Issue 07 has just been released, and this month's wicked gift is a Globlin Catapult. Jestro made sure that the Nexo Knights are in for a sizzling surprise in their seventh issue. He has built a mean machine that launches the nasty Globlins through the air. The Globlin Catapult is not just a free LEGO toy in this issue, but also a featured evil weapon in the epic adventure comic. This month's free gift is very reminiscent of the small Chaos Catapult [70311] set, minus the monstrous vehicle (and everything else). And instead of lava stones, Globlins are the ammo of choice in this stationary weapon. I think it is more logical to use Globlins balls in this foil set, but the use of Globlin discs with slide shoe rounds delivered the promised fun. The inclusion of pyramid ridged tiles in the frame is a very nice finishing detail (or maybe I just simply adore those brick pieces). Globlin Catapult All in all, the Globlin Cat...

birthday table decoration [40153] review

Birthday Table Decoration [40153] Box What's the perfect LEGO birthday present for a LEGO enthusiast (excluding the big box sets, of course)? The LEGO Birthday Table Decoration [40153]! I recently celebrated my 30th birthday last month, and one of the gifts my ever-supportive wife gave me is the B irthday Table Decoration [40153] set. It is the perfect centerpiece in the festive table (and the perfect announcement of your current age). Birthday Table Decoration [40153] The iconic table decoration was released in the summer of 2015, retailing at  £6.99 / $9.99 / 7.99€. It m easures over 3” high, 3” wide, and 3” deep.  It comes with buildable age numbers from 1 to 99 (poor  centenarians ). The official spiel says that it i ncludes a jester minifigure, but the truth is it includes only half a minifigure. I really wish that LEGO has provided the jester his brick legs so that he can stand on his own. The jester is used in the set's pop-up function, revealing a cute birthday su...
