LEGO star wars advent calendar 2016

LEGO Star Wars Advent Calendar 2016 [75146]
LEGO Star Wars Advent Calendar 2016 [75146]

It's already the 24th of December, and today marks the end of the LEGO Star Wars Advent Calendar [75146]...

As my first advent calendar, I immensely enjoyed the 2016 version of my favorite brick theme from a galaxy far, far away. Opening a door everyday (or in my case every other day or two) and discovering each surprise gave me simple festive joys. Snow Chewbacca, U-3PO, and the Hoth Snowman are few of the notable ones. The microbuilds were also ingeniously designed using only a small number of bricks.

LEGO nexo knights magazine: issue 07

LEGO Nexo Knights Magazine Issue 07 LEGO Nexo Knights Magazine Issue 07 has just been released, and this month's wicked gift is a Globlin Catapult. Jestro made sure that the Nexo Knights are in for a sizzling surprise in their seventh issue. He has built a mean machine that launches the nasty Globlins through the air. The Globlin Catapult is not just a free LEGO toy in this issue, but also a featured evil weapon in the epic adventure comic. This month's free gift is very reminiscent of the small Chaos Catapult [70311] set, minus the monstrous vehicle (and everything else). And instead of lava stones, Globlins are the ammo of choice in this stationary weapon. I think it is more logical to use Globlins balls in this foil set, but the use of Globlin discs with slide shoe rounds delivered the promised fun. The inclusion of pyramid ridged tiles in the frame is a very nice finishing detail (or maybe I just simply adore those brick pieces). Globlin Catapult All in all, the Globlin Cat...

project monochrome: reddish brown

Reddish Brown Monochrome Minifigure After the basic white and black, what could possibly be next for my my minimal art project in brick form? Brown, of course! Or more specifically, reddish brown... Progress in my Project Monochrome has been a bit sluggish of late for I wasn't able to actively hunt for spare minifigure parts. I still lack a piece or two to complete two to three working minifigures. But then I realized, I haven't shared with you guys my third one. For the Reddish Brown Monochrome Minifigure, I did not use any Brasso or anything to erase any paint because I got every piece virginal plain. (Purists, rejoice!). Believe it or not, I got every blank piece in my local LEGO Store Build-a-Mini, with the  exception of the head, which I just conveniently BrickLink-ed. I don't know if I'm just too much of a food lover, but in my eyes  the Reddish Brown Monochrome Minifigure looks good enough to eat. Doesn't it look like a piece of chocolate? Let's add a cow...

R3-M2 [40268] review

R3-M2 [40268] The free LEGO R3-M2 [40268] minifigure will definitely make any rebel wannabe go rogue! R3-M2 is the latest droid minifigure LEGO is giving away to brick fans from a galaxy far, far away. It is an astromech droid part of the Alliance to Restore the Republic from  Rogue One: A Star Wars Story .   The promotion runs in the UK from 7 to 31 May with any LEGO Star Wars purchase. The offer is valid online at shop.LEGO.com and in LEGO Stores. Limited to one per household, and of course, while supplies last. R3-M2 I don't know the reason behind this but the set is weirdly packaged in a softer polybag. If I haven't received it from a LEGO Store, I think I would doubt it as a knockoff or something. Other than that, everything else is perfect! The R3-M2 minifigure comes with a cool transparent head, which at first glance looks chrome silver. As pictured above, the printed details, however, are kind of hard to see ( sorry ). The body's printing is somewhat similar to th...
